reflections on life, love, and loss

For many years I wrote an occasional column for pastors and deacons in the Rocky Mountain Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Always at the end of an email newsletter where footnotes belong, I titled it *footnotes.

When kentmueller.com came available, my son snatched it up for me, providing me a place to share some of my writings.

I imagine I’ll be writing about life, especially my passions for gardening, cooking, music, the mountains of Colorado, spirituality, theology, environmental sustainability, racial justice and the arts, bicycling, and more.

I’ll be writing about love, including my family, my kids, my friends, and the best dog ever who was named Orfeo.

And I’ll be writing about loss, as I have been changed forever by the gift of love I received from my beloved wife, Elizabeth Izant, and the deep sorrow and emptiness that I have known following her death on March 11, 2020.

Join me on the journey into these *footnotes.
